Concrete doesn’t dry, it cures, and that mix-up wrecks more backyard slabs than bad weather ever does. I’ve been finishing flatwork for sixteen years, ACI Certified now, after starting out as the guy stuck screeding in July heat with no idea what a trowel was really for. Curing windows, mix ratios, pours in weather you shouldn’t touch, that’s what I actually get asked about, not the stuff in the glossy how-to videos. Skip the rebar on a slab over four inches and you’re not saving money, you’re buying a callback. I’d rather tell you that now than fix it later.
